FSSA:
END THE PATHWAYS WAIVER WAITLIST
Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) started a waitlist for the Indiana PathWays for Aging Medicaid waiver in July 2024.
The waitlist includes 10,000+ elderly Hoosiers on Medicaid who will be driven into nursing homes, rather than into community-based assisted living they need and want.
The cost to the State for a nursing home is 2.5 times more expensive than assisted living services, so the waitlist will cost Indiana millions of dollars.
